Poor Baby
Why is it that more and more parents are abandoning or abusing their children? Is it that they feel that they are a financial burden? If that's the case why are they having children? Do you think that the mother of this child should get jail time for leaving her child in a bag at a fire station. What do you think can be done to decrease the number of abused and abandoned children? Something needs to stop!!!

Children ARE a financial burden. If you don't want the child you should either practice safe sex, have an abortion or don't have sex at all. Leaving the baby in a bag sounds kind of harsh, but if it's legal to safely leave a baby at a fire station then it's better than leaving it in the wilderness. This problem really depends on how you look at it. If you are someone who is against abortion, you would probably be quite happy that they let the baby have life rather than getting rid of it. You can't look at this like a savage abandonment issue. At least they left it in a safe place where it can still have a future.
Parents are abounding there children because they just don’t care! Its more than financial burden, its everything. No, she should get the death penalty! Nothing can be done. Its just going to happen!
I don’t know why more parents are abandoning or abusing their children. For some it probably is a financial burden. I’m guessing that the majority of people, who do this, just can’t keep it in their pants. In order to decide if the mother deserves jail time they would have to find the mother and see why see abandoned the baby. The only way to decrease the number is for people who can’t take care of a baby, is for them to keep it in their pants.
Parents are abandoning and abusing their children more because they don't care and their immature. It's their responsibility, they made the decision to get pregnant so step up and take care of your child. I don't know how they feel but they make the wrong decisions. If you are not financially ready then don't get pregnant or put it up for adoption. They are having children because they are not thinking about the consequences that they will be faced. I do think that the mother of this child should get jail time for leaving her child in a bag at the fire station. Safe sex, more adoptions, and more maturity in people would help decrease the number of abused and abandoned children.
I have no idea why parents do this. If you aren't ready to have a child, then don't have sex or be more careful. I mean they do cost a lot, but if you can't afford it go to adoption. I'm not sure what they would to the woman for leaving the baby. I think people need to be a lot smarter about having children. They are a blessing to have, and they need to be treated like they are your everything.
Many people who have children are not financially able to support them. Therefore, they either abandon or abuse their children. People should not have children unless they are willing and able to provide them a good home. The mother of this child should receive jail time. She had no right to abandon a one hour old, helpless baby. I do not think that there is much that can be done to decrease the number of abused and abandoned children. People are going to do what they want to do, regardless of the rules.
More parents are abandoning their children because they are scared. Yes some do feel that their children are finical burdens that they cannot bare. I think people shouldn't have children who are not going to take care of them. Point blank period!
I do not understand why people are abusing their children. It could be that they have a financial burden, or they are not mature. People are having children just because. I think that the mother of a child should receive jail time, because if she knew she did not want the baby she should have made the procedure to give the baby up right after birth. I think giving the electric chair to some of these people would decrease the number of abused and abandoned children.
I have a feeling that more and more people are abandoning and abusing children, because they're too impatient to take care of them. They probably feel like a child is a financial burden, but they shouldn't be having babies if they can't take care of them. If they plan a pregnancy, or even if it's a mistaken pregnancy, the mother needs to grow up and mature so she can take care of her child. I also feel that the reason people are abusing and abandoning children is because they're still young and they want to continue living life the way they want to without a child getting in the way. In a way, I think she needs jail time, but in others she doesn't. She was probably scared, but she should have left the baby at the hospital and told them she wanted her up for adoption. The only thing that can decrease the number of abandoned and abused children is time. The older a person gets, the wiser they become, but nowadays, more and more teens and people in their 20's are getting pregnant. I don't get it, but all of it needs to be ended as soon as possible!
I think more parents are abusing and abandoning their kids because the economy is getting bad and their angry, or feel that they can’t take care of them. I do feel like this is all stemming from financial problems. I really don’t understand why their having kids, because birth control is a lot cheaper then a baby. I don’t think she should go to jail, because she was doing the right thing, because she probably felt that she couldn’t take care of it. I do think she could have given the baby up in a better way. I think clinics need to offer cheaper or free birth control and make it more available to the younger generation, because it seems like we are the ones having the babies, then cant take care of them.
I do believe people think children are a financial burden. This could be true in some cases because kids are a lot of responsibility. I have no idea why people are having kids if they can't take care of them. I don't think the mother of this child should go to jail for leaving her child in a bag at a fire station if they say it is not illegal. I guess to decrease the number of the abused children and abandoned children is by giving them up to people who want kids but can't have them by adoption.
There are more parents abandoning children because people are having babies and not prepared to take care of their child. Having a child is a financial burden. Also, children take a lot of time and sacrifice. They are probably having children because they aren't having safe sex. Also, they don't want to get an abortion or they couldn't receive one. I don't think there is anyway to decrease the number of abused and/or abandoned children because once the mother gives birth and walks out of the hospital, that life is in her hands.
