If your kid ever stole something from a store, would you make your him or her wear a shirt saying " Hide your money, Hide your clothes, Hide everything Cause Ima Thief."? Do you think this teen mom took Tough Love too far? Do you think she has a right to make her daughter wear this shirt everytime she leaves the house? Or do you think that this is a good way of her teaching her daughter displicine?
If my kid was a thief, I wouldn't make them wear this shirt but they would be severely punished. I don't think her punishment was out of line though. This kid deserved to be embarrassed in my opinion. I don't think this girl should have to wear this shirt EVERY time she leaves the house but a few times would suffice. I think the embarrassment would be enough to teach the daughter a lesson.
I definitely would not make my kid wear a shirt like that. I think that looks bad on the parent. That method may work and the girl may never steal again. This punishment just seems a little too stiff and extreme. There are other ways to teach her some discipline. It seems like with she's doing is only going to make the girl resent her later in life.
I think it's a good punishment. It'll teach her not to steal in an effective but nicer way. I think she has a right to make her kid wear the shirt but that it should only be for a little while. At least the shirt isn't hideous. I think it's a great way to discipline her daughter.
I don't blame the mother for being upset like she is, and I kind of don't blame her for making her child wear that shirt. She has a goal and if she thinks that's the way to keep her daughter from repeating her actions, then so be it. I would probably find something else to punish my child with however, because I don't like that tactic so much.
If my kid ever stole something from a store, I would not make them wear a shirt saying "Hide your money, Hide your clothes, hide everything Cause Ima Theif." I think the teen's mom thought she was doing the best thing but she did take tough love a bit too far. The mom has a right to make her daughter wear this shirt everytime she leaves the house but I don't agree that she should. Making her wear it once is enough discipline. Sometimes parents just go overboard and take things too far. Family problems should be handled in the privacy of your home; the whole world does not need to know.
I can honestly say that this punishment is completely ok. However I might do this to my kid, but it would depend on their personality. I think that this is Tough Love at its best. I mean she didn't take it too far by harming her and the kid has clearly learned her lesson. She has every right to make her daughter wear this shirt. She is after all HER daughter
I think this punishment was pretty creative. I think that she might have taken it a little far. Not only is this embarrassing the child, but people will never look at her the same. Yes she has the right but that's not saying it is right for her to do this. I think it will teach the daughter to never do this again, but she should not have to wear the shirt every day. It only makes the mother look bad too.
I don't know if I'd make my child wear the shirt but I understand the mother's point completely. I think this mom wants the best for her children and doesn't want anyone to look down upon them. Being a parent is probably the toughest job out there and I think this mom successfully tough her daughter a lesson. I definitely think this mom has the right to make her daughter wear this shirt, it's her mother and the daughter should respect her. Part of respecting your parents is showing how well they raise you by how you act in public.

Every child is different and therefore requires different methods of discipline. Some children would respond well to this new rule, but others would most likely rebel against their parent and cause even more difficulties. This woman knows her daughter better than anyone and therefore has the right to dress and punish her in the way that will be the most successful. I would follow this mother’s example if I thought the punishment would benefit the moral growth of my child, but after I know that he or she learned the lesson, I would end the dress code. I do not think this mother took extreme measures to discipline her daughter. She was not acting angrily towards her, or consistently lecturing her, but just enforcing the reminder that stealing is wrong and the consequences can be dire.
If my kid was a thief I definitely wouldn't make them wear a shirt. That's stupid and even though its wrong, it isn't right to make a shirt for your kid and embarrass them. Her kid shouldn't have to wear a shirt and she should find another reasonable way to punish her child.
The mom definitely took it a little to far, by making her child wear that shirt. It is definitely a creative and funny idea, but also a little extreme. I would not make my kid wear that shirt even though it might be a good way of disciplining. The mom has the right to make her daughter wear that shirt if she wants too. But making it that public to me is taking it way to far.
