What do you think about this? Do you think that they should have ratified this earlier? Do you think that this is offensive to African Americans? Why or why not?

I think that this is a little late. I do think they should have ratified this earlier. I do not think this is offensive. There have not been slaves in the United states for a long time. Just because Mississippi is just now ratifying the amendment does not mean that they did not care before or that they are just now doing away with slavery. Some things take time and this happens to be one.
This is kind of crazy if you think about it. What if someone would have tried to en-slave someone? Would it have worked? Could the state or nation technically do something? Mississippi is really late on signing. I want to know "why?" I don't think African Americans should take offense to this, all though I'm sure they will, because some white people were slaves too. I hate how many people tend to forget that.
I find this completely odd. I believe they should have ratified this many centuries ago! This has to be offensive to African American people and especially those residing in Mississippi. I had no idea, that not every state had already ratified abolishing slavery. Slavery does come in many forms, but just to know they are still obviously okay with owning someone else that is a injustice.
Well I think that Mississippi should have ratified this way earlier. It is pointless for them to wait until the last minute. However I don't find it offensive because we haven't had slaves in such a long time. -Dixie Gibson
I think that it is crazy that for all this time they haven't passed the 13th amendment. I do think that they should have ratified this earlier because if a racial person found out he/she could have his own slaves. I do think it is offensive to African Americans.
