Wannabe Pilot catches a first class flight to jail!

read this
Man arrested for impersonating a pilot. The suspect had been checked by security. What do you think about their step by step security checks. They take forever don't they? then how did this 61 year old man slip his way into the cock pit wearing a fake pilot uniform. Spring Break is close, do you plan on going somewhere for vacation? If so how does this make you feel regarding future trips to be made by air?

I have never been through a check, so I'm unaware of all the steps they take before flights. I am surprised the real pilot did not come, and then realize this was a fake. Also, it took all the way until he couldn't buckle that's scary! What if this man would've tried to take off or had and then later took down the plane. I had planned to go to South Carolina for Spring Break but I'm not sure if that road trip is still planned. My parents hate airplanes, so I will not be flying anywhere. I've always been cautious and worried of air flights. There are many things that could potentially go wrong, I'd rather stay on ground. But, I hope to overcome that soon.

This is so scary to read about, especially since I have family flying in Friday from Florida and a lot of family flying into Virginia from all over in September. I bet he probably bought a ticket then somehow managed to slip his way to the cockpit instead of to his seat. I've flown before and the security checks don't seem that serious. They run through your bags and make you take everything out of your pockets and then you go through two metal detectors, but after that you basically hand the woman/man your ticket and your walking onto the plane. I'm glad that the pilot wasn't like "Oh, maybe they just scheduled us backwards," or something stupid like that. I'm certainly glad that the man was caught and he should get SERIOUS time for impersonating and attempting to kill hundreds of people. I'm not going anywhere for spring break that involves flying. I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of flying to begin with.

The security checks do take forever and can be annoying but they make me feel safer about boarding a plane. I do think they take things to the extreme at times but its all for good reasons. I believe he went past security in a normal everyday outfit and changed once he was in the terminal. I am going to Ocean City Maryland this Spring Break, but I will be driving not flying. I have flown once before and I don't find this to frighting to me. They took the proper steps once they realized the man was out of place.
