Pop culture is making cursing seem appealing but I personally find it rude. Depending on the situation, cursing is not always necessary. I think its okay for people to cuss in pop culture as long as kids learn to censor themselves. Just because a celebrity curses doesn't make it okay for a child to.

I feel like you should be able to express your feelings. But you don't have to go so overboard with it. like saying it every other word. I guess i see why people are making such big deal about it. That's how they were raised.

I don't think theres anything wrong with it. Cursing is your own way of showing your feelings. Others may think it's not good or anything but so be it. It's your mouth and nobody else's. I just don't encourage it because you never know who's around to be watching you and I just wasn't raised like that.

My thoughts are that it is not okay for so many curse wordsto be used in the pop culture. More and more younger kids are cursing, and to adults it comes off as being rude. Alot of kids do it just because they see others doing it, but either way that doesn't make it right.

I think curse words are unnecessary and they show a lack of education. I also think that they are over used. I know some people who use them in every sentence. I guess some people are under the impression that it makes them seem tough or adds more power to what they say. I understand that sometimes people want to express themselves, but there are other ways and more words.

I think that too many people think cursing is okay, not that everyone doesn't at some point or another but every sentence or everywhere you turn is too much. Me being a teenage girl, guys that have horrible mouths; not attractive. There's so many other ways to express your feelings, why make yourself look trashy because in my opinion that's what you're doing. Certain words are definitely worse than others and Americans are slowly making it okay to say the worst things on national television. By the time I have children I will have to constantly monitor what they watch 24/7 and it shouldn't have to be that way.

In my opinion, words are words. You can't say that a certain word is bad just because of its connotation. Nowadays "screw" means the same thing as "f**k" but god forbid we say the latter. I don't understand the purpose of censoring words. When you think about what words really are then you'd understand the stupidity of the situation. Words are but a vibration from a source of energy, rippling out through the molecules in our air, until finally they reach our ear. How the bleep can you honestly say it's bad?

I don't think it's that big of a deal to cuss. The fact is they're just words. However, by making them seem so terrible it adds connotation to the words that make them harsh. If we let little kids run around saying them no one would take you seriously when you actually meant them and then you'd have to find a new set of 'bad' words for when you're trying to be serious and mean. Ultimately though, we have freedom of speech so we should be able to say whatever we want.

I think that cursing is bad. People don't really understand, just how bad saying curse words makes them look. Saying curse words definitely isn't okay and I think that cursing is getting way worse, with the new generation. The increase in cursing is caused by teens and young adults. It's horrible and cursing is very disrespectful to those around it, that don't approve of it.

I don't think its okay for all of these curse words being put into books and TV shows. Especially since its being put more into books that children are able to see. Also for TV shows more and more curse words are being put into these shows especially ones little kids watch. Also its not okay because it does show a lack of intelligence. Other words can be used in place of them.

Curse have almost become a part of every teen or young adult's vocabulary. That is the reason their has been an increase of words in the pop culture. It is never okay for some to curse, but not that it is the norm everybody seems to overlook it. Adults still view it as disrespectful while teens talk to each other with curse words in every sentence. Even though it has become so widely accepted and most of the time often overlooked there is no reason and not appropriate to use curse words.

My thoughts about the increase in curse words in pop culture is that curse words are very common now and some people have been cursing since a young age like me. It is not okay to be using curse words around young children, especially in children books or movies. Some children might start coping what they hear and then they will start cursing up a storm. I have been cursing since I was five years old, but thats what I was raised around my whole life.

My moms used to wash my mouth out with soup when cursed. I have noticed the cursing is getting worse in today’s culture. But to make books for little children to have curse words in it is outrageous. It is true that some people throw around these words a lot, I do it my self. By time my generation takes over the work force their will be words flying ever were.

I think that the increase in curse words in pop culture is unnecessary. It's very defiling to people's mouths as well as people's ears. In my case I totally don't think it's okay. There's a way in which people can talk in a positive way and not always cursing in someone's ear. It's definitely negative coming from a person modeling for children and older minors.

The increase in curse words in pop culture has gotten a little bit out of hand. While having curse words as titles for childrens' books is unnecessary, kids are already exposed to crude language in the music the older people they are around listen to. Parents can cut this exposure though, by not letting their children read those books. The sad part is a lot of people don't feel any type of way about this curse word increase. Because of the culture we live in, many people have become comfortable and even immune to the increase of curse word usage.

Curse words have been part of language since we could speak its only natural that people pick up on these words. I think that its not okay for people to us curse words as long as you by yourself and around people who know how to use these words properly. Some people use it around kids and when the kids grow up they use it around their kids and their kids pick up on these words. So its only natural for these words to become more popular.

This is something that has always been a hot topic in my family because both of my parents were saliors and so we grew up around swaring. Now lets be honest the sware words are no different from normal words except that they are looked down on by our elders. I believe that they are completely acceptible as long as they are used in moderation instead of every other word. This is why music and reality shows now a days is frowned on by the older generations because now we sware up and down. Vulgarity is an art not a language as most see it. So yes I do think it can be used in socity as long as we don't over due it.

The growing use of various curse words in society is not okay. In many ways, it shows a lack of self control. Society would most likely agree that it is important to be able to control one’s actions; in fact many individuals might look down upon others who apparently do not have this ability. Some people say these distasteful words without even realizing it, and that is a problem. Others who know the difference between right and wrong and are capable of controlling the words that come out of their mouths, simply do not have respect for themselves or the other citizens around them.

I agree with Brittney, that parents should be able to cut down exposure to their kids by not letting them read books with crude language.
