Explain your impression of 17-year-old Alex Klein. Is there anything you would be willing to give up most of your high-school social life to do if you had the opportunity, or in Alex’s case, created the opportunity? Describe.

I think Alex Klein is a smart guy. It's cool how he gets to help recruit basketball players. Even though he isn't getting paid, I think it will pay off in the future by giving him many connections with many different people. I think I could give up some of my high school social life, but not all of it. But if an opportunity just as good as that one came up I would most definitely get involved.
I think it's great that Alex can do something he loves and be well recognized for it. It presents a lot of opportunities for him in the future. However, he will probably pursue a career in recruiting college player. Even though he loves what he's doing, I wouldn't give up my high school life for that. He seems to have a lot of fun but he might enjoy his school experience more if he wasn't constantly on his phone or writing notes.
Well that depends on the opportunity. In the case of a pro-bono talent scout… no, I certainly wouldn't give anything up for that. Now if we could change the situation into possibly a musical career, then yes I would give something up. In my eyes, Alex is very talented for his age and standings, but he isn't quite there yet… he's not being paid is he?
He had a dream and he went out and accomplished it. It's great that he created the opportunity for himself and now he'll probably have a lot more because of what he's doing. It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter what kind of dream you have as long as you go for you can achieve anything. I would probably give up the high-school social life if I had an opportunity to make music videos. I would probably end up just giving up sleep instead of friends, though.
I admire this kid he is actually doing almost exactly what I want to be doing. If I could spend my days training and learning about showing horses I would. I actually would like to be a full time Dressage trainer and Arabian breeder. My goal is to either compete with or train a horse who competes on a internatonal level. I would give up my life right now in a heartbeat for this opportunity.
I feel like it is very impressive that he is only 17 and is recruiting college players. Even though he is not getting paid he still is enjoying what he does. I really don’t know if there is anything I would give up my social life to do. But I wouldn’t mind doing what he is doing it seems like a fun thing to do. But if I would do it I would need to be getting paid.
Alex seems like a really cool guy to be around. Although, it barely looks like he would have time for friends or hanging out. I think what he's doing is extremely cool, because I don't think many teenagers nowadays, could hold that kind of responsibility. I wouldn't give up anything to be a college recruiter, especially without any benefits.
To me, Alex definitely seems very hard working and determined to be something in life. It shocks me that he is doing all this for basketball but doesn't seem to have any interest in playing the sport. He is very mature for his age and really impressed me. I do a lot outside of school, but nothing that takes up as much time as recruiting high school basketball players. The only thing I think I would do in place of my social life other than small tasks I already do would be working with children. I love to spend time with them no matter what the case may be. There are so many kids that don't have anyone willing to just simply "hang out" with them and they deserve that.
Alex is definitely impressive for a person our age. There is no doubt in my mind that Alex is a very dedicated person. I would not give up my high school social life without pay. I enjoy many things but I can’t think of one thing to pursue like he did. One thing is for sure, I don’t think he’ll have a hard time finding a job after graduation.
I think that Alex Klein is impressice. With the way he manages high school and also the recruiting, and still able to keep up his grades. I think if I knew what I really wanted to do and wanted to persue it, I would be willing to give up my time like he did.
I think Alex Klein wanted to do this so he went for it and it ended up being something that took up most of his time. In my case I really would not give up any high school social life because I have no social life. I would take the opportunity if it arose or make one because as I stated before I do not have a social life.
My impression of Alex Klein is that he is a very smart and impressive person. I think that he should at least be paid for all of his troubles. I would be willing to give up partying too follow my dreams of going to Penn State and playing football. I could create this opportunity by getting accepted to Penn State.
17-year-old Alex Klein seems to be very sucessful at his skills for basketball. Obviously, he has been and still is very dedicated ever since the age of ten. He is really passionate about it and does not let anyone stand in his way of doing what he loves. I think he's very gifted. I don't think there is anything that I would be willing to give up most of my high-school social life to do if I had the opportunity. If there was I would.
My impression of Alex Klien is that he is a hard a worker that he knows what he wants to do and works hard to achieve it. I wouldn't give up anything because High school is one of the most important parts of a persons life. If I gave up something I know would regret it later.
Alex Klein plays no games. He obviously enjoys what he does and is good at it. I don't think there is anything at this point in my life that I'd be willing to give up my high-school social life to do. Unlike Alex, I'm not that sure of what I want to do and I probably would not work that hard to do it. He is even better because he does all that stuff but doesn't get paid for it.
Klein is a very dedicated, hardworking kid. I can’t imagine giving up most of my freedoms as a high school student and a teenager to work. He victoriously balances his passion with college recruiting while maintaining a high grade point average. He is very admirable for deciding to spend his time doing something that he absolutely loves without gaining any payment for it. I believe that his success is partially due to his desire to make his mother proud of who he is becoming.
I agree with Olivia. I couldn't even think of giving up most of my freedoms as a high school student either.
