How do you feel about texting and driving? Would you feel like it was your fault if you were the one texting someone before they crashed? Do you think the parents are right in pushing for the no texting and driving laws?

I feel that texting and driving is not good. People shouldn't text and drive! If I was the one texting someone before they crashed, I would be sorry. Even though I was sorry I wouldn't say it's my fault. I don't blame them for pushing for them laws. If I had kids and the same thing happened to me I would push for those laws also. You don't know what you will do until it happens to you.

I think texting and driving is just stupid. I'd feel a little guilty if I were texting someone when they crashed, but there's no way I would know they were driving at the time. I agree with parents pushing the texting in driving law. I can understand talking on the phone and driving because you don't have to look at the phone. Texting and driving just takes too much attention away from driving for you to be a safe driver.

Texting and driving is very unsafe. If I was texting and driving and killed someone, I would definitely feel responsible. That is why I would never do such a thing. I think the parents are doing a good thing by pushing this law. If something is so important that you need to speak to somebody, call them. Facebooking and driving is stupid too.

I can't drive, and I don't text. I have been in a car accident however. My sister lost her life that day. So topics on car accidents do spike some form of emotion. No one involved in the accident was texting, but I do understand the feeling of losing someone close to you like that. Ironically, the driver of the lugging truck that hit us tried to sue us for something over a million dollars. Obviously he didn't get it though.

I think texting and driving is very unsafe. A lot of people text and drive and many accidents involve texting. If i got into an accident while I was texting I would feel 1,000,000 percent responsible for it, and it would be hard for me to forgive myself. I think the parents are right for the no texting and driving laws.

While texting and driving is stupid, I admit to having done it before. It's not the smartest thing I've ever done. I think to some extent I would feel like it was my fault if I was the one texting someone before they crashed. But I wouldn't take all the blame because that person could have chosen to not text me back until they had gotten to their destination. The parents are right to push for the no texting and driving laws because it might save more lives.

Texting and driving is definitely not safe. I would feel really bad if that happened to someone. I would not put all the blame on myself cause it was kind of their choice to text and drive. The parents are right and have a reason to push the law. They do not want to see anybody's kid get killed or injured because of something so simple.

I think that texting and driving is very unsafe. It is not only unsafe for teens but adults as well. I would feel like it was my fault if I was the one texting someone before they crashed. Most likely it won't happen because that's not a habit I want to have while i'm driving. The parents do have various points in pushing for the no texting and driving laws. There are lots of consequences that result from this bad habit in teens.

I think that texting and driving is bad and that it shouldn't be allowed. If I was texting a friend right before they crashed I would feel guilty. I think her parents have every right in the world to enforce their opinion. People need to be well aware and very alert when driving, because they could cause an accident. There's always that one person on the road that's doing something wrong, and that one person would be the one, to put many people's lives in danger. If you were in this situation, you would do the exact same thing, these parents are doing.

I don’t know how anyone could consider texting while driving safe. The person at the wheel is responsible for his safety and that of those around him. If I sent a text to someone who was driving and he wrecked his car because he chose to read and respond to my message, I would be upset, but I would not feel responsible for the accident. It was his decision to take his attention off of the road, and unfortunately, his poor judgment resulted in a crash. I think that a law prohibiting texting while driving, for individuals of any age, is an excellent endeavor. Parents undoubtedly have the right to pursue this law.

Texting and driving is very dangerous, but I can't say I've never done it. If I was texting someone as they were driving and they wrecked, yes I would feel guilty. If something like that were to happen I would feel as if I could've done something to change the outcome. I think there should be no texting and driving laws because texting takes your attention away from the road and that is very dangerous. Small things like this that cause wrecks are the reason adults always try and take teenagers's driving privileges away.

I think texting and driving is very dangerous. Even though I am very guilty of it. I would feel so guilty if someone wrecked because they were texting me. I don't think it is smart to distract yourself with a cell phone. I think they are right by pushing these laws.
