Should the parents be charged? Why or why not? Should Child Welfare or Social Services get involved? Why or why not? Have your parents ever allowed you to do something that, looking back, was completely stupid?

Part of me thinks that the parents should be charged because they threatened their child's life. However, the other part of me thinks that maybe the parents are stupid and legitimately didn't know that they were harming their child. Perhaps they thought that they were just playing with their child and it turned out wrong. If Social Services gets involved and they didn't find anything to be concerned about, then the parents shouldn't be charged. I'm sure my parents have done at least one stupid thing while raising me but I'm not concerned about it.
I don't understand why anyone would put a child in a washing machine, accident or not. Although I don't see how much of an accident it could really be. They should be charged because they don't seem to have enough common sense not to play by putting the kid in a washing machine. I don't think Child Welfare or Social Services should get involved because the little boy's mom didn't have anything to do with it. My parents have never allowed me to do something that was completely stupid like that.
I think whoever put this baby in the washing machine should be charged. If you are this stupid you don't need to have this child anyways. I think someone should get involved. This is crazy.
I think that was stupid of them but I don't think it was that serious. It'd be a different story if they didn't take the kid to the hospital but since they did, they obviously didn't mean to hurt him. I think there are more serious crimes that Social Services needs to deal with. I think they just didn't realize what could go wrong with the situation. I don't think they should've lied though.
